Netflix has confirmed that Wednesday Season 2 will return to the platform. However, the announcement teaser, which reminded viewers how tortured Wednesday Addams (again played by Jenna Ortega) has been due to the unending amount of cosplayers impersonating her, did not disclose anything significant other than the show’s return for a second season. As a result, we don’t know when Wednesday Season 2 will broadcast, or even whether development on the next season has begun at all.
This revelation comes just days after speculations circulated that the second season of Wednesday would be taken over by competitor platform Amazon Prime Video as a result of its merger with the show’s producer, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. Fortunately, when Amazon stated that its merger with MGM would have no effect on the distribution of existing projects on other platforms, Wednesday was included. As a result, Netflix subscribers will be able to watch at least one more season of Wednesday on their preferred platform without having to subscribe to yet another live-streaming service.
Wednesday Season 2 Plot, Details, and Cast
Wednesday went home after the academic year at Nevermore Academy ended in the previous season’s conclusion. We anticipate that the second season will begin around the start of the new academic year, with Wednesday reconciling with pals such as Xavier Thorpe (Percy Hynes White), Bianca Barclay (Joy Sunday), and, of course, her loyal roommate Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers). We imagine that, while the Addams Family will continue to appear on the program, their role will be much less obvious, especially since that Wednesday doesn’t need any more encouragement from her family to stay at Nevermore Academy. After all, she’s settled into her new home away from home and is intrigued by the mystery swirling around the academy and the nearby town of Jericho.
We know that further mysteries will befall Wednesday in the coming season, especially since the first season closed with the introduction of a stalker who has been photographing Wednesday throughout the first season. Wednesday Season 2 will most likely center on this mystery in the early half of the season, with something more ominous emerging in the second half.
